The Circular Classroom is a social enterprise committed to creating net-zero classrooms in Singapore.
We focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and waste generated in the education system.
We train and mobilise students, parents and lifelong learners in the community
to play an active role in advancing Singapore's sustainable development agenda.
Our work contributes towards the education targets of the Singapore Green Plan 2030
and the Government's efforts to become a zero-waste nation.
Our main focus is textile waste and to find solutions for the reuse, repurposing and recycling of pre-loved school uniforms.
Over 420,000 students are enrolled in Primary, Secondary, Mixed Level Schools or Junior Colleges in Singapore.
Based on a Pilot Study by SMU-X in 2023, over 70% of students own 3 or more sets of school uniforms.
About 86% of school uniforms end up in general waste or are donated to organisations where further usage is mostly unknown.

Parents are key agents for change in the transformation to a circular education system. We aim to set up a "Parents for Sustainability Network" and collaborate with Parent Support Groups across Singapore to connect homes and schools through sustainability initiatives. Check out our ongoing Go Green PSGs 2026 project and be part of the community.
Join us as a Pilot School! The Circular Classroom is partnering with Final Year students from Singapore Management University to build a scalable Digital Inventory & Waste Tracking Platform for pre-loved school uniforms. Designed for schools and PSGs, the system enables structured tracking of collection, reuse and repurposing, with real-time dashboards and AI-assisted insights.
We are currently looking for 10 pilot schools to co-develop and test the platform as part of a wider SG Eco Fund-supported initiative advancing the SG Green Plan 2030.
